Rice and rice by-products remained unchanged

Rice by-products were mostly stable. Dry rice bran at Sa Dec was quoted at 8,050 VND/kg, while dry rice bran at Cai Be stood at 8,100 VND/kg. Wet rice bran at Sa Dec remained at 7,650 VND/kg.

Broken rice and rice ingredients also moved sideways. Two-region broken rice stood at 7,800 VND/kg, first-grade broken rice at 7,950 VND/kg, IR504 brown rice at 8,700 VND/kg, dry IR504 paddy at 7,300 VND/kg and fresh IR504 paddy at 5,850 VND/kg.

Wheat, DDGS and other feed ingredients

Feed wheat at major Vietnamese ports remained stable, with prices around 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg depending on delivery period and location. DDGS corn from the U.S. was quoted around 7,200 - 7,600 VND/kg. Corn gluten meal from the U.S. remained around 18,350 - 18,400 VND/kg.

Palm kernel meal from Indonesia and Malaysia stayed stable at around 4,600 - 5,200 VND/kg. Animal protein ingredients were also steady, with 60% Vietnamese fish meal at 54,000 VND/kg and Argentine meat bone meal at 15,000 VND/kg.

Exchange rate update

The USD/VND exchange rate decreased slightly to 26,463 VND, down 2 VND from the previous session. Meanwhile, CNY/VND increased to 3,941 VND, up 8 VND. This mixed movement should be monitored as it may affect import costs and reference prices for some feed ingredients.

Short-term outlook

In the short term, Vietnam’s animal feed ingredient market may continue to move sideways. Corn and soybean meal prices are expected to remain stable unless global prices or shipment costs change significantly. Rice by-products may also stay firm if local supply remains balanced. Traders should continue to monitor exchange rates, port arrivals and international commodity movements.
