Vietnam animal feed market overview on July 1, 2026

Vietnam’s animal feed ingredients market on July 1, 2026 recorded mild upward movements in imported corn and soybean meal prices. Most rice by-products remained stable, while wheat, DDGS and several other feed ingredients showed limited changes. Exchange rate movements, especially the rise in CNY/VND, remained an important factor for import cost monitoring.

Imported corn prices increased slightly in forward positions

Imported corn prices were mostly stable for nearby delivery but increased in some forward positions. South American and South African corn at Cai Lan for July 2026 was quoted at around 6,800 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous session. However, South American corn at Cai Lan for August to November 2026 rose to 6,900 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

At Vung Tau, South American and South African corn for July 2026 was also quoted at 6,800 VND/kg. South American corn for August to November 2026 increased to 6,900 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. Indian corn at Vung Tau was quoted at 6,850 VND/kg, also up 50 VND/kg.

Soybean meal prices moved higher

Soybean meal prices continued to rise slightly in several delivery positions. South American soybean meal at Cai Lan for July to September 2026 was quoted at 10,800 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. At Vung Tau, South American soybean meal for August to September 2026 reached 10,900 VND/kg, also up 50 VND/kg.

For later delivery from October 2026 to February 2027, South American soybean meal at Vung Tau was quoted at 10,750 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. This shows that soybean meal prices remained firm, supported by import costs and cautious forward supply.

Rice by-products remained mostly stable

Rice by-products were largely unchanged. Dry rice bran at Sa Dec, Dong Thap was quoted at 8,050 VND/kg, while dry rice bran at Cai Be, Dong Thap stood at 8,100 VND/kg. Wet rice bran at Sa Dec was quoted at 7,650 VND/kg. Broken rice and rice-related by-products also remained stable, with two-region broken rice at 7,800 VND/kg and IR504 brown rice at 8,650 VND/kg.

Although the group was mostly stable, prices remained at a relatively high level compared with previous periods due to limited local supply and steady demand from feed mills and processing factories.

Wheat, DDGS and other feed ingredients

Feed wheat at major ports was quoted around 7,100 - 7,300 VND/kg depending on delivery period and location. DDGS corn from the U.S. at Hai Phong for July 2026 stood at 7,500 VND/kg, while DDGS at Cat Lai for July to August 2026 was quoted at 7,600 VND/kg.

Palm kernel meal from Indonesia and Malaysia remained around 4,600 - 5,200 VND/kg, depending on fat content and delivery port. Animal protein ingredients were also stable, with 60% Vietnamese fish meal delivered to factories in Hung Yen at 54,000 VND/kg and Argentine meat bone meal at Hai Phong at 15,000 VND/kg.

Exchange rate update

The USD/VND exchange rate remained unchanged at 26,466 VND. Meanwhile, CNY/VND increased to 3,940 VND, up 6 VND. The increase in CNY may affect trading costs for some imported feed ingredients and cross-border reference prices.

Short-term market outlook

In the short term, Vietnam’s feed ingredient market may remain firm. Imported corn and soybean meal could continue to see mild upward pressure if import costs and forward shipment prices stay high. Rice by-products are expected to move sideways, while buyers should keep monitoring exchange rates and shipment schedules before making forward purchases.
