Vietnam’s animal feed ingredients market on July 2, 2026 recorded mixed price movements across major commodity groups. Imported corn prices were uneven, with some forward positions at Cai Lan increasing while Son La corn moved lower. Soybean meal remained firm, especially in forward delivery positions. Meanwhile, rice ingredients such as IR504 brown rice, dry paddy and fresh paddy increased slightly.

Imported corn prices showed mixed movements

For later delivery from December 2026 to February 2027, South American corn at Cai Lan remained stable at 7,050 VND/kg. At Vung Tau, South American and South African corn for July 2026 stood at 6,850 VND/kg, while South American corn for August to November 2026 stayed at 6,900 VND/kg. In contrast, Son La corn for July 2026 fell to 6,750 VND/kg, down 50 VND/kg.

Soybean meal remained firm

Soybean meal prices were mostly stable to slightly higher. South American soybean meal at Cai Lan for July to September 2026 was quoted at 10,800 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous session. For later delivery from October 2026 to February 2027, the price increased to 10,850 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

At Vung Tau, South American soybean meal for July 2026 and August to September 2026 remained at 10,900 VND/kg. Forward delivery from October 2026 to February 2027 rose to 10,800 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

Rice and rice by-products edged higher

Rice-related feed ingredients showed a slightly stronger trend. Dry rice bran at Sa Dec, Dong Thap was quoted at 8,050 VND/kg, while dry rice bran at Cai Be, Dong Thap remained at 8,100 VND/kg. IR504 brown rice in the Mekong Delta increased to 8,700 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

Dry IR504 paddy rose to 7,300 VND/kg, up 100 VND/kg, while fresh IR504 paddy increased to 5,850 VND/kg, also up 100 VND/kg. This indicates that the rice ingredient group remained firm due to stable demand and limited short-term supply.

DDGS, palm kernel meal and other ingredients

DDGS corn from the U.S. at Hai Phong for July 2026 was quoted at 7,500 VND/kg, while DDGS at Cat Lai for July to August 2026 stood at 7,600 VND/kg. Corn gluten meal from the U.S. was quoted at 18,350 - 18,400 VND/kg depending on delivery port.

Palm kernel meal from Indonesia and Malaysia remained stable, ranging from 4,600 to 5,200 VND/kg. Animal protein ingredients were also steady, with 60% Vietnamese fish meal at 54,000 VND/kg and Argentine meat bone meal at 15,000 VND/kg.

Exchange rate update

The USD/VND exchange rate decreased slightly to 26,465 VND, down 1 VND. The CNY/VND exchange rate also fell to 3,933 VND, down 7 VND. Lower exchange rates may help ease import cost pressure, although traders still need to monitor global commodity and freight movements.

Short-term outlook

In the short term, Vietnam’s feed ingredients market may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range. Corn prices may remain mixed by port and delivery period, while soybean meal could stay firm in forward positions. Rice ingredients are likely to remain supported if supply does not improve significantly. Buyers should continue to monitor exchange rates, shipment schedules and global commodity prices before making forward purchases.
