Vietnam Feed Market Report (July 23, 2026): Imported Corn and Soybean Meal Surge Across Key Ports

1. MARKET OVERVIEW & EXCHANGE RATE IMPACT

  • Global Context: The domestic feed raw material market in Vietnam experienced active trading on July 23, 2026. Bullish pressure from global benchmarks (driven by U.S. weather stress and Black Sea shipping disruptions) pushed asking prices for imported corn and soybean meal to higher levels.
  • Foreign Exchange (Vietcombank): Vietcombank listed the USD selling rate at 26,500 VND/USD (eased slightly by -20 VND). The Chinese Yuan (CNY) dropped by -7 VND to 3,947 VND/CNY. Despite lower exchange rates, high import CFR costs forced traders to raise domestic asking prices.

2. IMPORTED & DOMESTIC CORN MARKET

  • Cai Lan Port: South American and South African corn spot and July–December 2026 delivery positions advanced broadly by +100 VND/kg, ranging from 7,150 to 7,600 VND/kg. Far-deferred positions (January–March 2027) reached 7,650 VND/kg.
  • Vung Tau Port: Mirrored northern gains (+100 VND/kg), with asking prices ranging between 7,150 and 7,550 VND/kg for July–December 2026 terms; early 2027 contracts touched 7,600 VND/kg.

4. MEKONG DELTA RICE & BYPRODUCTS MARKET

  • Broken Rice: Grade 1 broken rice stayed firm at 8,150 VND/kg. However, prices in Sa Dec (-20 VND/kg) and Cai Be (-30 VND/kg) adjusted slightly downward to 8,100 VND/kg due to localized harvesting supply.
