Vietnam Feed Ingredient Market Update at 14:30 on July 8, 2026: Nearby Corn Prices Rise, DDGS and Palm Kernel Meal Edge Higher

Vietnam’s feed ingredient market update at 14:30 on July 8, 2026 recorded mild price increases in several key feed materials. Imported corn prices rose mainly for nearby delivery periods, while forward shipment prices were mostly unchanged. Soybean meal also edged higher at some delivery periods, especially at Cai Lan port.

Rice bran and rice by-products remained broadly stable, except for IR504 brown rice, which decreased slightly. In the protein and by-product segment, DDGS prices moved up at both Hai Phong and Cat Lai, while palm kernel meal in Long An also increased.

Imported corn rises for nearby delivery periods

Imported corn prices in Vietnam increased slightly, mainly in nearby delivery months. At Cai Lan port, South American/South African corn for July delivery was quoted at 6,950 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. The August–September delivery period reached 7,000 VND/kg, also up 50 VND/kg, while October–November rose to 7,100 VND/kg. However, the December 2026 to February 2027 period remained unchanged at 7,200 VND/kg.

At Vung Tau port, imported corn also recorded increases in nearby months. July delivery stood at 6,950 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. August–September reached 7,000 VND/kg, while October–November was quoted at 7,050 VND/kg, both increasing by 50 VND/kg. The December 2026 to February 2027 period remained stable at 7,150 VND/kg.

This shows that buying interest and price support are currently stronger in nearby delivery periods, while forward shipments remain relatively steady.

Soybean meal edges higher at selected periods

Soybean meal prices saw limited increases. At Cai Lan port, South American soybean meal for July delivery remained stable at 10,950 VND/kg. The August–September period increased to 11,000 VND/kg, while October–November rose to 11,050 VND/kg. The December 2026 to February 2027 period reached 11,150 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg.

At Vung Tau port, South American soybean meal for July delivery stayed at 10,950 VND/kg. August–September increased to 11,000 VND/kg, up 50 VND/kg. Meanwhile, October–November and December 2026 to February 2027 remained unchanged at 10,950 VND/kg and 11,050 VND/kg, respectively.

Overall, soybean meal prices were firmer at Cai Lan, while Vung Tau remained more stable, except for a slight increase in the August–September period.

Rice bran and rice by-products remain stable

Rice bran and rice by-products showed little movement in the latest update. Dry rice bran in Sa Dec, Dong Thap was quoted at 8,050 VND/kg, while dry rice bran in Cai Be, Dong Thap stood at 8,080 VND/kg. Dry rice bran in An Giang and Can Tho remained at 8,000 VND/kg.

Wet rice bran prices were also stable, with Sa Dec quoted at 7,750 VND/kg and An Giang at 7,700 VND/kg. Broken rice grade 3/4 in the Mekong Delta was recorded at 7,800 VND/kg.

The notable change in this group was IR504 brown rice in the Mekong Delta, which decreased by 50 VND/kg to 8,900 VND/kg. This suggests that the rice by-product segment remains relatively balanced, with only limited downward adjustment in selected items.

Wheat remains unchanged, DDGS moves higher

Feed wheat prices remained stable. Feed wheat at Cai Lan for July delivery was quoted at 7,200 VND/kg, while the August–September period stood at 7,300 VND/kg. At Vung Tau, July delivery also remained at 7,200 VND/kg, and August–September was stable at 7,300 VND/kg.

DDGS prices increased in the latest update. U.S. corn DDGS at Hai Phong for July delivery rose by 50 VND/kg to 7,550 VND/kg. At Cat Lai, U.S. corn DDGS for July–August delivery also increased by 50 VND/kg to 7,650 VND/kg.

Corn Gluten Feed from China at Hai Phong for August–September delivery remained unchanged at 5,200 VND/kg.

Palm kernel meal and other ingredients

Palm kernel meal prices were mostly stable, except for Long An. High-fat Indonesian/Malaysian palm kernel meal at Hai Phong remained at 5,200 VND/kg, while low-fat palm kernel meal stayed at 4,600 VND/kg. At Long An, Indonesian/Malaysian palm kernel meal increased by 50 VND/kg to 5,000 VND/kg.

Other feed ingredients were mostly unchanged. China-origin rapeseed meal at Hai Phong remained at 8,200 VND/kg. Vietnamese fish meal 60% delivered to Hung Yen stayed at 50,000 VND/kg, while CP10 palm oil at Cat Lai was quoted at 33,500 VND/kg.

Market outlook

In the short term, Vietnam’s feed ingredient market is expected to remain mixed. Imported corn may continue to receive support in nearby delivery periods if buying demand remains active. Soybean meal could stay firm, especially at northern ports, while rice bran and rice by-products are likely to remain stable unless milling activity or export demand changes significantly.

For feed mills and importers, the latest update suggests that purchasing decisions should focus on delivery timing. Nearby corn and DDGS prices are already moving higher, while some forward periods remain stable, creating room for staged buying strategies.
