Vietnam Animal Feed Market on July 20, 2026: Corn and Soybean Meal Remain Stable While Rice Products Rise

1. Vietnam animal feed market overview on July 20, 2026

Vietnam’s domestic animal feed ingredient market remained relatively stable at the beginning of the week. Imported corn and South American soybean meal prices were unchanged from the previous update.

The main price movements occurred in rice and agricultural by-products. Broken rice increased by VND 50–100 per kilogram, low-grade brown rice rose by VND 200 per kilogram, while dry and fresh IR 504 paddy gained VND 50 per kilogram.

Several other feed ingredients also recorded strong increases. Chinese corn gluten feed at Hai Phong rose by VND 300 per kilogram, while Vietnamese fishmeal with 60% protein increased by VND 2,000 per kilogram.

2. Imported corn prices remain stable

At Cai Lan, South American and South African corn for July 2026 delivery remained at VND 6,950 per kilogram. August delivery was quoted at VND 7,100 per kilogram, while September delivery stood at VND 7,150 per kilogram.

October and November contracts at Cai Lan remained at VND 7,200 per kilogram. Delivery from December 2026 to February 2027 held at VND 7,350 per kilogram.

At Vung Tau, South American and South African corn for July 2026 delivery was quoted at VND 6,950 per kilogram. August delivery stood at VND 7,050 per kilogram, September at VND 7,100 per kilogram, and October–November at VND 7,150 per kilogram.

Contracts from December 2026 to February 2027 at Vung Tau remained at VND 7,300 per kilogram. Dried corn sold from warehouses in Son La held at VND 6,900 per kilogram.

3. Soybean meal records no new price changes

U.S. soybean meal in containers at Hai Phong for July 2026 delivery was quoted at VND 11,000 per kilogram.

At Cai Lan, South American soybean meal for July 2026 delivery remained at VND 10,950 per kilogram, while August delivery stood at VND 11,000 per kilogram. September, October and November contracts were quoted at approximately VND 11,150 per kilogram.

December 2026 and January 2027 delivery at Cai Lan remained at VND 11,300 per kilogram, while February 2027 stood at VND 11,500 per kilogram.

At Vung Tau, soybean meal prices ranged from VND 10,950 to VND 11,400 per kilogram, depending on the delivery period. All contracts were unchanged.

4. Soybeans and soybean hulls remain unchanged

U.S. Grade 2 soybeans at Hai Phong for October 2026 delivery remained at VND 14,500 per kilogram.

Soybean hulls at Hai Phong for July, August and September 2026 delivery held at VND 5,300 per kilogram.

The market showed no significant movements, indicating balanced domestic supply and purchasing demand.

5. Rice bran prices remain relatively stable

Dry rice bran at Sa Dec, Dong Thap remained at VND 8,000 per kilogram, while the Cai Be price stood at VND 8,050 per kilogram.

Dry rice bran at An Giang, Can Tho and the Long An–Tay Ninh area remained at VND 7,950 per kilogram.

Wet rice bran at Sa Dec was quoted at VND 7,700 per kilogram, while the An Giang price remained at VND 7,650 per kilogram.

Rice bran supplies remained relatively limited, while purchasing demand from traders and factories was stable. Supplies may improve as the summer-autumn rice harvest progresses.

6. Broken rice and low-grade brown rice prices rise

Grade 3–4 broken rice in the Mekong Delta increased by VND 50 per kilogram to VND 8,000 per kilogram. Grade 2 broken rice also gained VND 50, reaching VND 8,100 per kilogram.

Grade 1 broken rice rose by VND 100 per kilogram to VND 8,200 per kilogram, the strongest increase in the broken rice group.

IR 504 brown rice remained at VND 9,300 per kilogram. Low-grade brown rice increased sharply by VND 200 per kilogram to VND 8,500 per kilogram.

7. IR 504 paddy prices edge higher

Dry IR 504 paddy in the Mekong Delta increased by VND 50 per kilogram to VND 7,650 per kilogram.

Fresh IR 504 paddy also gained VND 50, reaching VND 6,250 per kilogram.

Approximately 35% of the summer-autumn crop had been harvested. Supplies are expected to improve, although slower harvesting and lower yields may continue to support prices.

8. Extracted rice bran and wheat bran

Indian Grade 2 extracted rice bran at Hai Phong was quoted at VND 5,200 per kilogram.

At Cat Lai, extracted rice bran increased by VND 50 to VND 5,100 per kilogram.

Taiwanese and Indonesian wheat bran at Hai Phong remained at VND 5,700 per kilogram. Vietnamese wheat bran at Vung Tau for July and August 2026 delivery held at VND 6,150 per kilogram.

9. Feed wheat rises at Vung Tau

Black Sea, U.S. and South American feed wheat at Cai Lan for July 2026 delivery remained at VND 7,250 per kilogram. August and September contracts stood at VND 7,300 per kilogram.

At Vung Tau, July 2026 feed wheat increased by VND 100 per kilogram to VND 7,350 per kilogram. August and September delivery remained at VND 7,300 per kilogram.

Cassava chips sold from warehouses in Son La held at VND 5,600 per kilogram.

10. DDGS remains stable while corn gluten feed rises

U.S. corn DDGS at Hai Phong for August and September 2026 delivery remained at VND 7,600 per kilogram.

At Cat Lai, U.S. DDGS for July and August delivery also held at VND 7,600 per kilogram.

Chinese corn gluten feed at Hai Phong increased sharply by VND 300 per kilogram to VND 5,300 per kilogram.

U.S. corn gluten meal at Hai Phong for November 2026 delivery remained at VND 18,450 per kilogram, while Cat Lai and Long An quotations stood at VND 18,400 per kilogram.

11. Palm kernel meal prices decline slightly

High-fat Indonesian and Malaysian palm kernel meal at Hai Phong declined by VND 50 per kilogram to VND 5,100 per kilogram.

Palm kernel meal at Long An also fell by VND 50 to VND 5,050 per kilogram. The low-fat product at Hai Phong remained at VND 4,600 per kilogram.

Bitter rapeseed meal at Hai Phong held at VND 7,700 per kilogram, while Chinese sweet rapeseed meal remained at VND 8,500 per kilogram.

12. Fishmeal rises by VND 2,000 per kilogram

Vietnamese fishmeal with 60% protein delivered to a factory in Hung Yen increased sharply by VND 2,000 per kilogram to VND 60,000 per kilogram.

Argentine meat and bone meal with 50% protein delivered to Hai Phong remained at VND 14,850 per kilogram.

The fishmeal increase was one of the largest price movements recorded in the domestic feed ingredient market.

13. Vegetable and animal feed oils remain stable

Squid liver oil at Hai Phong for July and August 2026 delivery remained at VND 55,000 per kilogram.

Palm oil at Cat Lai for July 2026 delivery held at VND 33,300 per kilogram.

No new price changes were recorded in the feed oil segment.

14. Yunnan corn reference price

Corn traded in Yunnan, China, on July 20, 2026, remained at CNY 2,400 per tonne.

Based on the current exchange rate, the price was equivalent to approximately VND 9,168 per kilogram.

The Yunnan reference price remained significantly higher than imported corn quotations at Vietnamese ports.

15. USD and CNY exchange rates remain unchanged

Vietcombank’s U.S. dollar selling rate on the morning of July 20, 2026, remained unchanged at VND 26,490 per USD.

The Chinese yuan selling rate also held at VND 3,943 per CNY.

Stable exchange rates helped limit additional cost pressure on animal feed ingredient importers.

16. Market outlook

Imported corn and soybean meal prices in Vietnam may continue to move sideways in the short term as supply and demand remain relatively balanced.

Rice and agricultural by-products may continue to show mixed movements. Rice bran prices could remain stable or face mild pressure as summer-autumn supplies increase, while broken rice, low-grade brown rice and IR 504 paddy may stay firm.

Businesses should closely monitor international commodity prices, vessel schedules, freight rates and exchange rates when planning feed ingredient purchases.
